White Mountain Landscape
Patriarch Grove-Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest, California
A storm advances over the rugged dolomite peaks of the White Mountain range. It is summer and the trees stand in anticipation of much needed water. The Bristlecone pines subsist mainly from condensation that forms on their needles. Just right of center-foreground is an "old man" that is full and healthy with branches covered in needles and cones. Photo © copyright by Frank LeBlanc.
