Death Valley Sunset
Death Valley National Park
Looking southeast at a view which shows the many colored layers of strata which comprise these great rock walls. Here too is another example of the uplifting tectonic plates. A burst of red light only lasted about 10-20 seconds. Not long before taking this picture I had observed a small group of bighorn sheep on the grassier slopes to the west. Death valley is home to many species of wildlife, including bears and cougars. Photo © copyright by Frank LeBlanc.
