Abraham Lake, Kootenay Plains Provincial Park, Alberta, Canada
The thick ice cover on Abraham Lake appeared to vary from 6 inches to over 12 inches deep. Fish could be seen swimming through the glass-like surface. Travel on the lake could only be accomplished with crampons, or snow shoes. Photo © copyright by Frank LeBlanc.
