Bald Cypress, Henderson Lake
Atchafalaya Basin
An array of bald cypress tress covered in spanish moss unfurl their banners to the wind. The Atchafalaya basin is one of America's scenic wonders. It has been under attack by private interests for more than a century yet nothing has been done to stop encroachment from many angles. Why it has not been established as Louisiana's only national park can again be answered from the category of a long list of "self serving interests.". Photo © copyright by Frank LeBlanc.
