The trees along the right side of this grove appear to have tapped into a nutritional source the other trees have not, or maybe they have been here longer. The lumbermen had ended the epic of the giant bald cypress of Louisiana by the 1920's. If not we would have trees that could compare to the giant pines, Sequoias and Redwoods of California.
